Individual God

Dear Brother Ron

Is God an individual God? If there is an individual God for everyone who is aware of him, is that God the same God for each individual person, thus making an individual God a single God?

Desi

Dear Desi

God is the same God for everybody (whether we are aware of Him or not) but He does not give everybody the same message. We humans are too limited in our intelligence and sensory perceptions to appreciate the fullness of Him, so He gives each of us what we need for our individual lives.

This means that, even though we are all talking about the same God, we see different aspects of Him. Check out the classic poem "The Six Blind Men and the Elephant" at http://opng8.org/elephant.html

When the churches talk about the Trinity, they are talking about God, the Creator and ruler of the universe, Jesus, who became one with God and the Holy Spirit, which is the part of the living God within each of us. So in answer to your question, we all see God from our own individual perspective. Although we are all talking about the same God, each of us sees a different side of Him.

If you were standing in front of me, you would see me from a certain angle. If I turned to the left or to the right, I would no longer look the same but I would still be the same person. Likewise, no matter what your perspective is, we are all looking at the same God.

But even though we are all talking about the same God, He still relates to each of us and cares about each of us individually. Jesus told us this:

Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

Matthew 10:30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Matthew 10:31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

So yes, the God who is Lord and Creator of the universe is also your personal God.

Best always

Brother Ron
